Foundation Capital Adds Dave Stevens as Venture Partner

Menlo Park, CA - February 16, 2005 - Foundation Capital announced today the addition of Dave Stevens to the firm as a venture partner. Stevens joined the firm as an entrepreneur-in- residence in 2004. In his new role, Stevens will focus on infrastructure investments, including software, systems and components for the communications, computing, storage, and wireless sectors.

Stevens came to Foundation Capital with a combination of 20 years of experience in the development, marketing, and sales of storage and data communications systems, optical transport, and mission-critical computing infrastructure. Prior to joining Foundation, Stevens served as the CTO for the Transport Systems Division of Brocade Communications. Previously, he was the founding CEO and later vice president of business development for Rhapsody Networks, Inc, a venture-backed startup developing next generation storage networking infrastructure. He has held a variety of key product development, strategic planning, and executive management positions at Atmosphere Networks, Inc., Nortel, Bay Networks, SynOptics Communications, and Microdyne Corporation. Stevens holds a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia.

"Dave is a proven entrepreneur who brings with him in-depth industry knowledge," said Adam Grosser, general partner, Foundation Capital. "His experience building computing infrastructure is a welcome asset to the team and complements Foundation Capital partners' expertise in software, semi conductors, telecommunications, and data networks."

"The Foundation team has a well deserved reputation for bringing significant and unique value to the entrepreneurial process. I am tremendously excited to have the opportunity to work with them and to participate in the development of emerging new companies," said Stevens. "I look forward to applying my entrepreneurial skills to venture investing and to engaging in the style of company building that has made Foundation one of the top firms in their industry."
